Fifa World Cup 2006

Last night I stayed up for the first match - Germany Vs. Costa Rica. Actually based on previous games, it was quite obvious that Germany was going to win, just a matter of the goal difference. It was really a treat when a goal was scored in just 6 minutes by Philipp Lahm. Actually, I suspect the Costa Rican goalkeeper was not very terrific, so Im not that surpised, only when he got warmed up then he was really on to stopping the ball. Then just 6 minutes later, Paulo Wanchope equalised for Costa Rica. I can tell you, all those punters and betters must have been furious and cursing away because a goal against Germany would be pretty much unexpected, especially with a great Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann. And then in the 17th minute, Germany was put 2-1 up. Normally after Germany is in the lead, the team would play mainly a defensive strategy for pretty much of the second half. Hence I went to sleep, only this morning that I realised that I missed out on 3 goals, as the final scoreline was 4-2 to Germany. So, Wanchope scored Costa Ricas 2 goals, Klose Miroslav scored 2 of Germany's on his birthday (28?) Then Philipp Lahm and Torsten Frings scored 1 each. Talking about Frings, I'm feeling hungry. When I was playing Fifa 2005, I always thought of him as a spring chicken. Weird, but Nvm.
